Bowen Therapy

Known for its gentle treatment procedure, Bowen therapy is both therapeutic and relaxing.

Bowen Therapy is a physical therapy created by Mr. Thomas A. Bowen in the 1950s in Australia.  The treatment involves performing rolling like technical moves on muscles, tendons and ligaments of the body in a systemic sequence to address different injuries and health conditions.

Bowen therapy promotes healing by directing the body to focus its attention to the area of injury or imbalance.  During the treatment, the therapist will perform a sequence of technical moves on the patient. These moves are very gentle and they act like messengers that tell the body to relax, heal and regenerate. The therapy is performed while the patient is lying down and each session takes 45 to 90 minutes. Treatments are usually scheduled one week apart. Although it usually requires 3 to 5 sessions for significant results, many patients experience improvements and a greater sense of well-being after their first treatment.
